Gemeinschaftspraxis für Pathologie Traunstein — Accredited Molecular Pathology Laboratory (DAkkS, DIN EN ISO/IEC 17020:2012)

The Institute of Pathology Traunstein provides accredited molecular pathology diagnostics to referring laboratories, physicians, and patients within Germany and internationally. Our in-house molecular unit combines a broad, accredited method portfolio with short turnaround times and direct communication between pathologists.

We work with referring laboratories and clinicians, with distributors, and — where clinically appropriate and in cooperation with a treating physician — with self-paying patients from outside our region.

Accreditation and quality

Our laboratory has been a DAkkS-accredited Type A inspection body (DIN EN ISO/IEC 17020:2012) since 2006. All molecular testing is performed in-house under continuous quality control and external proficiency testing, and every report is issued and validated by board-certified pathologists. Where tests are available as CE-marked in vitro diagnostics (CE-IVD) — such as the Prolaris® prostate cancer prognostic assay and the EndoPredict® breast cancer prognostic assay — we run them as certified performing laboratory, avoiding the need to ship samples to a central reference laboratory abroad.

Method portfolio

Our accredited molecular portfolio covers the principal techniques required in modern oncological and predictive pathology:

  • Next-generation sequencing (NGS) — comprehensive DNA/RNA panels for solid tumours, covering the biomarkers relevant to targeted therapy and companion-diagnostic decisions
  • Digital and quantitative PCR — high-sensitivity detection and quantification of defined molecular targets
  • Liquid biopsy — analysis of circulating tumour DNA (ctDNA) from plasma, for settings where tissue is limited or serial monitoring is required
  • CE-IVD prognostic assays — including the Prolaris® cell-cycle progression test for localised prostate cancer and the EndoPredict® test for early-stage, hormone-receptor-positive breast cancer

Testing is performed on standard FFPE material or, for liquid biopsy, on appropriately collected plasma. Specific pre-analytical requirements are provided with each request form.

For referring laboratories and physicians

We support laboratories and practices that do not maintain their own molecular unit, or that require methods outside their in-house spectrum. Referrals are handled with defined pre-analytical instructions, structured reporting, and direct access to the reporting pathologist for clinical discussion. Framework agreements for recurring cooperation can be arranged individually.

For distributors

We welcome enquiries from distributors seeking an accredited European performing laboratory. Terms, capacity, and logistics for recurring volumes can be agreed on an individual basis.

For patients

Patients from outside our region are welcome to enquire. To ensure appropriate clinical use and interpretation, molecular testing is arranged in cooperation with the patient’s treating physician, who provides the clinical context and receives the report. We will gladly explain the process and requirements on request.

Logistics and pricing

A written cost estimate is provided on request and covers testing as well as international shipping arrangements. Sample transport boxes and request forms are available by e-mail or telephone.
